The ideas and thoughts for my thesis begin within the medical facilities throughout the United States and European countries. We all live similar lives but live in two completely different regions of the world, with different beliefs and perspectives on how things are done. The thesis communicates the two views of the American and European facilities through many different issues and cases. It reviews issues of sustainability, building development and design, the functionality of the design and its region, along with the environmental aspects they face. Within those environmental features, this research extends the study towards the specific regional area and looks at the social and behavioral issues and how they impact that region and their daily living.
By comparing and contrasting the two health care systems it will convey how the actual structures are being utilized and provide analysis for its specific regional criteria. Matching up sustainability and the environmental issues, the issues can express the effects on the region and its population. These ideas will be incorporated to show the current effects on architecture and design vs. what an ideal design would be, socially and economically. The methods of research will be conducted in the most organized form with the help from my committee. I plan to use case studies and regional data that provides needs and wants for specific areas in the U.S. and Europe. Research from notable books to current articles via the Internet and multiple site visits will provide another source for analysis.
Within the findings, the research will show the dramatic differences between each topic and combine them into a strong thesis. All of the issues and topics researched for the medical facilities, in both the United State and Europe, will be noted and evaluated in its purpose and design. Taken in account for the results will leave a remarkable argument for ones opinion that will allow them to be intrigued for more, along with the passion to help make these medical amenities their very best.
Medical facilities, as a whole, and or divided into certain issues, leave a lot of room open for discussion. All of the thoughts on the topic are not to be to general but are to cover an interesting look into how health care and its facilities are being used and in different parts of the world. Many people practice a wide range of beliefs that have effects on how things are done socially. These practices take on many effects throughout the region and its public health care. Whether the two countries share the same ideas or not, the outcome will always be different according to the specific issues discussed and analyzed in my dissertation.

ReplyDeleteI must first beg forgiveness from you and your committee for my ignorance, but possessing only a rudimentary knowledge of public healthcare facility design in the United States and virtually no experience with European hospital architecture I am at a loss as to the exact topic of your dissertation. My first question pertains to the environmental aspect. What precisely is the 'specific regional criteria' that make up the deciding factors of how aforementioned structures are designed and thus utilized. This is a question of great interest to me pertaining to my potential contributions to this thesis as I am a European Architecture and Service Yeoman (EASY) man. I await more information on the specifications of your study with great anticipation and physical arousal. ;)
