Recently, I gave an updated presentation for my thesis that
helped to clarify the scope of the project. The highlights of the presentation
are shown below in order to update readers on the progress of the research.
Project Overview:
This thesis project was initially intended to be directed
towards designing a city on water based upon the research of rising sea levels
and environmental changes. After a great deal of research, it became more and
more apparent that the parameters for designing such a fictitious city are too
difficult to apply to multiple situations. I then decided to alter the project
towards developing a model for current coastal cities to follow in order
mitigate rising sea levels. This will be more beneficial because it is
applicable to our current environment and is not arbitrary in comparison to the
previous project.
