In
my last blog I
mentioned that I would be creating a website for my portfolio. Well, I actually finished it, but it took
longer than I was expecting. The
most stressful part of creating the website was finding all the files from
previous projects. I made the
mistake of saving files to multiple flash drives instead of one. I had 5 flash drives, 1 TB passport,
and 3 SD cards to search through for my files. I believe I spent more time searching for files than I did
compiling everything on the website.
I can say I’ve stayed more organized with my school work in the last
year. Creating this website did
teach me one thing, and that is keep everything as organized as possible so
it’s easier to find later on. The
reason I took the time to make a website was solely for the purpose of job
applications. The website includes
my school work and also personal projects I completed outside of school.
Since
I made this online portfolio for job applications, I’ll talk about the places
I’m looking into. My first area of
interest is Texas. My brother
currently lives in Conroe, Texas now, so I’ve found six firms in that area I’m
going to apply to. My second area
of interest is in the St. Louis area.
Since my parents only live an hour from St. Louis it would allow me to
stay close to home. Other places
I’m looking into are: Chicago,
Colorado, Florida, California, New York, and Hawaii.
I
have created a mobile and desktop version of my site. The mobile version contains a few glitches that I can’t fix (Images rotated
incorrectly). Although both
versions will work, the desktop version is easier to navigate through. If you are interested in viewing my
website, click this link: www.ethan-brammeier.com
Congratulations on the new website! Things like these really do take some time, especially if you are encountering some difficulties, which in your case is locating your previous files. Anyway, I like how you’ve made a mobile version for your site, since a lot of people are now browsing the web through their phones. Thanks for sharing this with us, Olivia. All the best!

It's totally understandable if the process of creating a website took longer than you expected. After all, making a website is not an easy feat. Anyway, by the looks of your new website, it seems that you'll be gaining more clients in no time. The layout is refreshing and the navigation is clean. Browsing through your work has never been easier. Thanks for sharing that! More power to you! :)

Southern Illinois University, home of the Saluki which, is a dog. Is a great place to earn a degree in architecture. In fact a good friend of mine earned his degree at the school. It is in Carbondale Illinois at the southern tip of the state. It is a great school for many reasons but has a gorgeous campus to check out.

I was looking to begin designing my own website when I stumbled upon your blog post. I have so many creative ideas that my brain cannot contain them all, so I began creating them on my computer and seeing how you has issue with storage space, I decided to take your advice and obtain a larger drive from the beginning.
